The Kendall Hotel in Cambridge, Mass., is located next door to Massachusetts Institute of Technology and less than six miles from Logan International Airport. Situated in the heart of Kendall Square, the center of the technology industry in the Boston area, the hotel epitomizes convenience for business and leisure travelers. Historic Harvard Square, downtown Boston, Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, museums and theaters are all within a few minutes of the hotel.
Built in 1894, the Kendall Hotel was once an infamous Victorian firehouse, Engine 7. In 2002, the hotel was transformed into a boutique hotel. The original firehouse is home to the hotel's restaurant and is decorated with firehouse memorabilia, antiques and antique reproductions. Eleven of the hotel's guestrooms are also located in what was once the firemen's dormitory. A seven-story tower, a recent addition, houses meeting space and additional guestrooms. Guests can start the day with complimentary buffet breakfasts of baked goods, yogurt and hot breakfast items and sample both classic and innovative American home-style dishes for lunch and dinner at the Black Sheep restaurant. The Black Sheep's full bar offers a selection of locally-brewed beers and selected wines from wineries around the United States.
The Kendall Hotel features 65 guestrooms with private baths decorated in a classic American décor with antique reproduction furniture, American quilts, custom artwork and bath amenities.
Guests should note that the Kendall Hotel - guestrooms, meeting rooms, restaurant and bar - is designated a non-smoking environment.
