The Homestead sits on 160 ancient wooded acres at the foot of Yosemite National Park. Outdoor adventurers who love hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking, yet don't want rustic, will appreciate the Homestead's blend of a mountain setting with luxury accommodations. Natural gardens, meandering rock walls and clear blue skies lull you into the slower place of a mountain retreat. Many Homestead guests enjoy seeing the sights of Yosemite and the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway, while others hardly venture off our 160 acres. For guests that own their horses and want to explore this area by horseback, there is a stabling area for your equine friends. For guests that do not have their own horses, there are several stables nearby for guided rides. The Homestead is truly a place where one can just relax and enjoy nature.
All six guest accommodations have their own unique charm. A trademark of The Homestead is that every accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen stocked daily with coffees, teas, hot chocolate, milk, juice, muffins, fruit & granola. Each accommodation also has its own private setting area. In addition, each has central heating and air-conditioning, color cable TV, and almost all have a fireplace. The four one bedroom cottages, Country, Garden, Native American and Adobe feature natural pine woodwork, wood vaulted ceilings and saltillo tile floors. The Star Gazing Loft is for those who don't need all the amenities of our cottages. The Ranch House, a two- bedroom/two bathroom accommodation, is perfect for families. Wood floors, maple cabinets and warm colors grace this newest addition. All accommodations also offer robes, hairdryers, iron & ironing board, and daily maid service.<br> **This property requires two-night minimum stay requirement for all Friday and Saturday arrivals.** |

| Area Attractions
Yosemite National Park's highlights include the Yosemite Valley's cliffs and waterfalls, ancient forest groves of giant sequoia trees, and Glacier Point, where one can embrace the breathtaking view of the Yosemite Valley. The Madera Wine Trail and Westbrook Wine Farm, both nearby, offer a taste of California's excellent winemaking tradition. In addition, there are a variety of golf courses in the area to challenge players of all levels. Numerous fairs and festivals occur throughout most of the year. The area also includes a variety of shopping choices, as well as a robust art community that includes a number of art galleries, performance theatres, antique shops and collectible events, as well as a number of museums. Fishing, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, rock-climbing are just some of the summer activities to occupy your time. In the winter your choices include skiing (cross-country, downhill, snowboarding), sleigh rides, snowmobiling, ice-skating, and snowshoeing. |

| Driving Directions
41110 Road 600, Ahwahnee, CA - From Fresno-Yosemite International Airport: Depart airport heading North on East Clinton Way and turn left onto North Gateway Boulevard. Turn right onto East McKinley Avenue and then merge onto CA-41 North. Continue on CA-41 North for 43.5 miles, then turn left onto CA-49. After four miles, turn left onto Road 600 and continue 2.5 miles to the property. |
