Location. The landmark Umaid Bhawan Palace is an Art Deco- style palace overlooking the skyline of Jodhpur, India. It is five kilometers from Jodhpur International Airport and 10 kilometers from Mehrangarh Fort.
Hotel Features. Twenty-six acres of lush gardens surround the Umaid Bhawan Palace, the last of the grand palaces of India and the largest Royal Residence anywhere in the world. Exotic murals commissioned by the Polish artist Stefan Norblin cover palace hallways. The palace includes a museum, indoor bathing and reflecting pools, a steam room and full-service spa specializing in therapeutic Indian treatments. The hotel serves guests a complimentary Continental breakfast mornings, while Pillars restaurant serves both Indian and international cuisine three meals daily. Risala restaurant specializes in a la carte selections and the Trophy Bar serves cocktails into the evening. Expert Tip. The Umaid Bhawan Palace took 15 years to complete and was built in golden yellow Chittar sandstone. This imposing structure blends Eastern and Western architectural influences and has served as the principal residence of Jodhpur's Royal Family since 1943.
